TopoSys Company Foundation

TopoSys Topographische Systemdaten GmbH was founded in 1995 as a spin-off of Dornier GmbH, an air- and spacecraft manufacturer of worldwide reputation. In 1996 TopoSys presented the Falcon airborne laser scanning system based on a unique fiber-optic technology, the first of its kind worldwide, including software for pre- and post processing.

TopoSys as a Service Provider within Europe

Since 1996 TopoSys has operated its own laser scanning systems in central Europe and has covered thousands of square kilometers for digital terrain models.  In conjunction with the systematic development of customer-oriented applications in the GIS sector, TopoSys has assumed the role of the leading service provider for precise Lidar scanning throughout Europe.

All three sensor systems are complemented by TopPIT, the Lidar processing software package. It supports the hardware specific pre-processing and streamlines data workflow  and handling for DEM and true-ortho images. Third-party software can hook into the workflow through standardized interfaces.
